Tommy Dorfman

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, actress, director, and author TOMMY DORFMAN focuses her work on telling stories that shine a light on a range of interweaving and distinct queer experiences. She is most well-known from her work in Netflix’s breakout hit, 13 REASONS WHY. Tommy made her Broadway debut alongside Rachel Zegler and Kit Connor in Sam Gold’s ROMEO + JULIET where she played the dual roles of Tybalt and The Nurse to critical acclaim. Next, she led the off-Broadway production of BECOMING EVE, based on the critically acclaimed memoir by Abby Chava Stein. Her performance garnered her a 2025 Drama League Award nomination for “Distinguished Performance.” Additionally, she’s starred alongside Alan Cumming in Jeremy O. Harris’ off-Broadway hit DADDY and can also be seen on screen in Lena Dunham’s feature film, SHARP STICK.

This past year, Tommy made her directorial debut with I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST, based on the novel by Mason Deaver. Following an acclaimed premiere at SXSW, Lionsgate released the film which stars Alexandra Daddario, Cole Sprouse, and newcomer Corey Fogelmanis. She has recently wrapped her 2nd feature LAURA DEAN KEEPS BREAKING UP WITH ME.

Tommy recently released her first book, a collection of essays turned memoir entitled, MAYBE THIS WILL SAVE ME. The book has since become a national bestseller. In the last year, she has spearheaded, creatively, campaigns focused on bringing LGBTQ+ talent to the public with companies like Calvin Klein and Ferragamo.
