Bio
Amar Wala is a CSA nominated producer and founder of Scarborough Pictures, a Toronto based company that makes thoughtful and vibrant content across film, television, and digital platforms. Often blending traditional methods with new modes of fundraising and community engagement, Amar is leading a new generation of dynamic young producers in Canada. Scarborough Pictures has a keen focus on new and underrepresented voices, and has developed and produced numerous award-winning series including the highly acclaimed CBC Gem comedy series Next Stop; documentary series Witness; as well as upcoming feature film Shook, in partnership with Film Forge and Elevation Pictures, which will premiere at TIFF ‘24.
