Fonna Seidu burst onto the film industry in 2018 with the award-winning short film PROMISE ME (dir: Alison Duke). Through her company Snail Mail Media, she’s since led productions on 80+ projects including producing the CSA Winner for Best Direction, Doc Series BEING BLACK IN TORONTO and CBC Gem Original hit series VIRGINS! As a CFC Producer Program alumni, her upcoming features include THEY ECHO, a script awarded Best Feature Screenplay and the Fellini Award to the best international script, supported through the Telefilm Production Fund, as well as YO WE’RE DYING, supported through Telefilm’s Talent to Watch, CMF PBRC, and EPs Christina Piovesan (Infinity Pool, French Exit) Michael Lazarovitch at Chemically Altered Productions. Her recently produced documentary with Peacock Alley Entertainment, BIG FEMININE ENERGY, is available on CBC’s Passionate Eye and has PM’d numerous projects ranging in size and scale including LILITH FAIR: BUILDING A MYSTERY (dir: Ally Pankiw) with Dan Levy’s Not a Real Production Company / Elevation Pictures, DEGRASSI: WHATEVER IT TAKES featuring subjects like Drake, Kevin Smith) with Wildbrain and Peacock Alley, S2 of OYA Media Group’s FOR THE CULTURE with Amanda Parris, the CSA-Winning CityTV doc series BLACK COMMUNITY MIXTAPES, and HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER for CBC’s The Passionate Eye. She is building her commercial portfolio with previous clients ranging from Capital One, FanDuel, Budweiser, Pepsi, TD Bank, Nütrl, Honest Company, and more.
